All bolt-heads are newly machined and custom fit to each rifle. The laser engraved serial number on each bolt matches the serial number of the firearm.
During the assembly process bolt-head is head spaced with the barrel and hand
fit with the trunnion. After this operation each bolt-head receives the
matching serial number with the gun.
We blacken not assembled bolt heads only, as soon as they get machined.
Then the bolt heads are assembled with the rest of parts (firing pin,
extractor, extractors pin and spring) into complete assembly. The complete bolt
head assemblies are installed into the firearms. Each firearm is reloaded and
dry fired at least 20 times, then it is test fired with the life rounds. During
this procedure the blackening on the bolt-head is scratched and has the wear
marks. We do not blacken the complete bolt-heads assemblies after the
assembly/testing procedure, since the blackening salts may stay in the assembly
and will cause continuous efflorescence, which eventually will damage the
bolt-head assembly. After testing the bolt-head assemblies are well oiled and
protected from the corrosion.
Yes, we installed on some Sporters AK-style telescopic recoils
mechanism. These are newly made and are alternative to regular spring recoil mechanisms.
